Several elven soldiers who weren’t far off from the docks saw the on coming ship as they were on patrol, they all halted upon a single command given too there leader, with everything going on upon this Empire the city has been long evacuated the women and children of Tallendon went into hiding or left the Empire under the orders of Cirdan himself not wanting to risk any civil casualties. ‘’ Halt for now stand in your positions upon your rank ‘’ the commander ordered the troops who stood there awe struck at the ship, quickly responding they all stood parallel to one another in single file facing straight ahead towards the ship it self then turning abruptly facing them ‘’ No one is too attack them until they strike first is that understood! ‘’ he shouted in elfish tongue towards his platoon who stood ready with there bows aiming towards the on coming ship.

‘’ They are pirates ‘’ the one took note of the ship, the commander growled at the out rages response ‘’ what would pirates want with us ‘’ he thought too himself knowing the possibilities then with a sudden idea he turns looking at the ship with a raised eyebrow and a smile escapes his lips ‘’We should go and tell Cirdan of there arrival ‘’ he spoke softly to the other platoon leader and he nodded and broke off towards the beach area where he last saw him for the others remained behind to ensure he got there safely.

One of them however rushed towards the docks grabbing one of the rope masses so he could toss too them if they did dock here so he could help park the ship and possibly bring it into the ship yards not to far from here too keep it safe especially once the real threat would come this way and this they knew. He readied himself in his standard position with out the slightest bit of fear upon the Elfish soldiers face. There he has awaited for the welcoming of the travelers

A dense fog would roll forth from the depths of the tempest. A massive storm rising up to warn all those on land to run and hide… the kingdom of Tengoku advanced. Preparation for the invasion had delayed them a few days, but now their fortress of the sea barreled forward with unrelenting power. The sound of cannon fire, only half a mile off shore, the sounds of the shells whirling through the air… the target? Well that was simple; the target was ship and guards. Shot after shot, each cannon going off till its rounds were exhausted, possibly hundreds of rune marked shells ripped through the air and as they reached their peak of flight? Each one would explode turning into hundreds of falling needs each ready to release its own explosion as ambient energy was absorbed. The blasting and shrapnel would be more then enough to cover from the stern of the ship up onto shore, it’d would fire far past the troops upon the dock, scaring the land with it’s rage and hate. And the flag which flew? It was marked with the Cherry Lotus; it would seem an elite guard as aboard.

“Aye we be approaching the land, prep the main cannon, and ready mean, ready to unleash your torrent of arrows and to skew any man which tries to board!”

The captain’s voice rang out… and at his command the massive cannon converted into a five bladed fan. Spinning faster and faster till becoming perfectly translucent, the ambient energies of both spiritual and physical poured in feeding it. Waves road up, clouds sunk down, and the world became dim before the ship. The ionization of air around resulted in the crackling as the rune defenses kicked in. Ores slid in, sails went limp, and the power of the steam engine kicked in, turning the massive underwater propellers.

“ We’ll clear them all out with a single shot!”

The sounds of war, they awoke Ryu from his sleep. It was been an amazingly peaceful voyage up until now… oh well all good things would come to an end. His cabin in the bowels of the ship would be left, and after a few moments of walking he would arrive at the ships brain. There the Captain would be given a swift nod, the eyes of the monk following the actions of the archers which spread themselves across the deck… a violent thrash from the constant cannon fire causing a few to lose their balance.

“Is it really needed? Must we use the main cannon? We could possibly destroy the whole damn place if we did that… then what use would it be to us, Captain?”

It was time; it was time to prove their worth to their kingdom but more importantly to their Emperor. It was time, it was time for war, it was time for death, but most of all it was time for conquest. It was time for the invasion to start and Henjou acknowledged this. The current leader of the raiding party, the leader of the Emperor’s Elite guards, and the Grand Master of the Cherry Lotus Temple, he would complete his mission on the first try. Failure was not an option, and if it came down to it, he would destroy the continent itself just to assure some type of victory.

“Yes Ryu, it is needed. We cannot afford to play games. This shall be a blitzkrieg it will be fast, furious, and efficient, unless they choose to surrender… which isn’t likely. We must show them at least a portion of our full power so that we made send them quivering in fear. Do you not agree?”

They statement transpiring as Henjou entered the room. Shirtless wearing only his favored armor and pants, the man was truly a site to behold, looking to be more of European decent then Asian, but regardless he was a warrior of the empire.

“I take it the others are still sleep?”

“Yes Master Henjou, they are, they are still asleep… suspended in the chambers. Shall I awaken them?”

The young man entered the cabin with the other three. His cheerful gaze befalling Henjou. A few steps carrying out to a window to look out at the soon to be destroyed land. It was getting closer, and they were still moving rather fast.

“Captain, do you intend to ram that other ship? We could probably split it right in half you know?”

The boys face lit up with the idea of the sea being stained scarlet from the blood of the dying soldiers as their ship was turned into shrapnel from the force of impact. A twitch coming from his right hand as his left shot over to grip it holding it fast from the hilt of his blade….

“Not… yet…. Just a little longer.”

The commander stood there tensed as legions of the army of Tallendon appears in the shore lines but something was amiss here could it be that perhaps that they were infact bringing forth there own cannons in hopes this would help them they loaded up there own cannons as they took aim at the enemy ship. The commander who was standing there in between two cannons moved behind them instinctively. ‘’ On the count of three we shall fire the cannons amongst the enemy ship in return fire. ‘’ He steadied himself as he shouted ‘’ One.. Two … Three… Fire!! ‘’

Simultaneously the cannons were fired heading towards the on coming ships of Tengoku at 600mphs. During that moment the commander was chanting something in his elfish tongue as his body begins to glow in a spectrum of light calling upon his innate powers he begins to float upon the air as he gathered up a glow in his eyes shown as he gazed at the ship clasping his hands together he summons a magical ball of energy

As he commences for the spell of his attack you could hear a roar of on coming dragons approaching upon the western section of the docks flying high into the war there large wingspan gliding through the air as they spot the ships attacking the lands with a single swoop they descended upon them there claws out stretched awaiting for grasp a hold of some of there soldiers and if they do hit a soldier they’d claw there large talons into there skins But no there were also elfish archers standing on top of the dragons riding them as they loaded up there bows they begin to fire immediately towards the humans who dared threatened them.

While walking the lands of here and tommarrow Strider feels a great disturbance and nods slowly to himself. So it has begun, perhaps this will prove much more interesting than the last to have attempted it.. Wrapping himself in his cloak Strider turns towards the feeling of unease and begins his slow long walk from the abyss, a few mortals know of this small place in hell where one can find him and it seems he is needed yet again to bring unexpected help to one he has long called a friend..the htought going through his head are telling him he will be to late but he never gives a second thought to that as he can feel his unnatural powers begin to build as he leaves this place of solace.. Upon reaching the gate to this sacred of places he bows slowly to the guardian of the gate thus speaking.."It has begun again and this time we will not be late....." this being said Strider stands and a sword unlike any other floats out from the mist glittering starngely as it approaches one of the few who have ever managed to last its deadly touch..."Come Darken it is time to war, Let our enemies fear our approach for none shall leave the battefield this day alive, on your holy blade i swear this...." Strider reaches out and takes hold of the old weapon and carefull sheathes it betwixt his wingsshifting them everso slightly so that only the hilt of the magnificent weapon can be seen./.. Raising his left hand he beckons into the shadows and a small golden phoenix flies out and lands gently on his wrist looking up at him with small eyes filled with exitement....

Strider turns back to the gate and walks deliberately through it and as the gate falls slowly from sight a last visigual effect is seen as it simply just vanishes as if it was never there in the first place..Strider walks on towards the destination he had at one time called home and perhaps some one there will still recall him thou of them all he knew only one that still lived, Wtih a thought he said little but the thought was enough," Fear not Cirdan help has come and with it hope in your hour of need..." With that thought Strider fades slowly out and reappears standing behind and to the right side of cirdan as they watch the approach of this so called invasion force....

Without speaking cirdan knows he has come and with a slight nod and little thought for his well being Strider raises his right hand and launches the golden phoenix in to the air, The phoenix knowing its job all to well takes flight like a fiery arrow at the incoming ships and upon approaching the ships simply vanishes into a puff of smoke, and yet the phoenix has done its job well as cirdan and the others around him can see a little globe appear in the air in front of them giving them a birds eye view of the ships and all the goings on of them....

Standing patiently by cirdans side Strider waits for the command to do more then just watch and ponders what would be the best method to attack of defend from this so called force that is now swiftly approaching the shores of this legendary place at which he had once called home...

Leaving little doubt about his intentions Strider slowly reaches up and touches the now familiar hilt of the weapon strapped betwixt his wings and begins to let the sword hilt become warmed by his hand knowing that the time of its unsheathing is not now but hoping that the time will come where the blade will ring against another in battle....

The Arrival Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Arrival   The Arrival Icon_minitimeTue Apr 17, 2007 6:02 pm

A foolish tactic indeed! One could only imagine that these elves purposely acted out of folly… but it did not seem to be the case, rather it appeared that it was all accidental for the cannons returned fire at the ship… and the ship had already prepped its defense. The massive man cannon continued to swirl about as the cannon balls and energy which came with them were absorb, turned into the must basic and fundamental forms of particles which supplied the weapons appetite for power.

Yet the ships secondary cannons had already fired, the numbers had ranged to about sixteen or so which continued their bombardment, and as previously mentioned before not only did they target the ship, but the elves on land as well. The shells which were fired did as described before hand. They exploded in the air and send hundreds of barbs falling down upon the Elvish army and their commander, and each barb absorbed energy and as it did it would expand, then explode. At this point releasing a blast of heat that could melt bone several feet, followed by a barrage of molten shrapnel in multiple directions!!

And what of the dragons? The dragons which attacked from the sky? The same location which the shells traveled through? It could only be assumed that they were flying through the debris and explosions, and they all seemed unaware of the archeries which had pre-placed themselves on deck. Aye, the dragons would be flying to arrows as well… and there were still two more defenses, yes two more.

The first would be the ships primary cannon which continued to siphon energy, oh this cannon absorbed mass and energy was previously explained. What did this mean? It meant that there would be a constant pull of air to the front of the ship, due to the displacement caused by conversion and assimilation. The arrows of both people would be pulled off course, but further more the dragons themselves would get much drag and be pulled as well. This sending them off course with any luck.

The final defense would be the ballistae, siege weapons designed for castle raids. Mythological weapons used for both battles against mortals, and the slaying of dragons. These massive crossbow styled weapons would have perfect aim at the dragons as they swooped down, in fact it would be like shooting a dead fish on dry ground. The arrow traveling far faster then a massive dragon could change direction.

Which brings up a most interesting point, the Phoenix which flew out to sea and to the enemy ship, it would be flying through a nearly endless amount of blasting, of arrows, explosions, shrapnel, and of course the ships main cannon. The ship which is heading to land, and the bird which heads straight to the ship, it would be absorbed and converted by the cannons assimilating power, preventing any advantage of a birds eye view.

(( This would be considerable more effective if the phoenix attempted to convert into some type of energy. And since energy and mass are the only doable options, magic being a metaphysical energy, you pretty much killed your birdie by having it fly straight to the attacking ship. Might I also note that your phoenix won’t be reborn either since it won’t be igniting into a beautiful flame, but rather having its mind body and soul converted into quinta essential.))

((Oh and Elros you will not be opening any portal on the enemy ship. The defense runes have been activated. You should of taken the time to read up on it.

Kokuhyou: A massive ship around 150 feet long and 50 feet wide, rising up about three stories. The ship is constructed out of numerous woods and metals which have been tempered and magically enhanced to the point of being nearly weightless while retaining full flexibility and resistance. The ship having both sails, ores, and a steam engine is capable of reaching speeds well over 50 knots and with the mana drive activated can even exceed that, able to accelerate till the point of hydroplaning on the waters surface. Each side of the ship has around twenty five to thirty cannons on it, each cannon housing multiple shells. The shells are rune marked and contain the ability to fire and accurately hit an object up to two miles away. The runes on the shells not only work as a guidance system, but with the right command will cause the shell to explode and convert into thousands of multi barbed needles which plummet to earth while absorbing ambient energies. Once the needles reach critical mass and can no longer hold anymore energy they explode sending out huge blasts up shrapnel up to forty feet away. The cannons can be angled to fire straight, to fire to the front, or to the rear of the ship, and can fire up to seven times before needing to reload. Further more the firing speed of each cannon is around a shell per five seconds allowing for it to be fast enough to combat aerial forces if needed. The rear of the ship has eight ballistae mounted on it with a full 360 degree range. The ballista can fire one arrow every two seconds and are automatically reloaded. Each arrow has enough force behind it to drive it through eight feet of solid titanium, while the contents inside the shaft of the arrow allow it to explode after a few moments with enough force to shatter that same wall. The ballistae get about five times the range of the cannons. The front of the ship contains the primary cannon, which holds the ability to open up and spin in the form of a massive four bladed fan. The main cannon works as the ships primary defense due to its charging technique which will pull in all ambient energy in front of it, this energy not being limited to the physical world. This also includes matter, which will convert into energy. Once the cannon is fully charged it can fire in one of two ways. The first is a solid beam of quinta essentia which will pierce through nearly any and all magical or none magical defense, though this beam is not the actual attack itself. Rather a solid projectile is fired through the beam and healed together by the beams high energy field. This solid projectile is constructed of element 6783 Nephilium, which is highly isotopic and has a half life of about .0003 milliseconds x (10 ^-9999999999999 x C) and the act of decaying is so violent that it converts 100% of its mass into gamma radiation. These shells are held together by the energy field of the quinta essentia and only after it has been detracted does the shell go off. The shell can safely be used as close as five feet away and as far away as a few miles.((Each shell is about three feet long and at the widest portion half a foot, when fired it moves at about .6C)) The second method of firing the cannon deals with using no solid projectile. Rather the cannon use the fan blades to spread out the beam and fire several hundred smaller blasts that can be directed at anything in front of it. While these blasts are smaller they retain the power to penetrate most defenses and cause serious collateral damage. Runes along the ship not only protect from radiation damage but most corporeal magic and weaponry. They keep a constant flow of positive energy which prevents portals from opening on board and can emit a counter psionic frequency negating teleporting. The ship itself holds a crew of around 1000 and can fit several hundred of the long bow wielding crewmen on the deck to unleash a bombardment of arrows for close range combat.

Cannons returning fire, arrows being plucked from the sky, the roar of dragons, and the screaming of dying men, these sounds polluted the world about them…. But it couldn’t be helped. The ship sailed forward faster and faster, the steam engine turning the massive propellers at such a rate that a small tidal force is created behind the boat. Henjou could only watch in astonishment at the slaughter which would take place. The Elven Empire, even though given time to prepare, seemed completely and totally incapable of defending itself adequately. It was a shame though, Henjou had almost looked forward to getting off of the ship and stretching his legs… but if things continued this way… they’d be able to destroy the defending force before even reaching shore…. Wouldn’t that be a damn shame?

“Captain might I suggest we do take the young ones idea and make use of it? Why not activate the mana drive and then purge ourselves of all obstacles in the way by simply ramming them? Even if we do crash ashore and become beached, we’ll have a key location for defense and offense and won’t have much to worry about in the form of sea bound threats!”

Henjou truly did desire to fight these entities himself, but if they could not over come something as simple as rune defenses, well then… it would seem that they might not even be worth invading.

stands watching idly by as the same stuff the ship is shooting is being sucked around and pulled right back into it in a sort of conundrum of the circle of life and since nothing can approach it do tho the suction pulling it in then so to can nothing be fired from it do to the same suction.....and blithely stretching my left arm up and stroking the phoenix there on as the truth reveals itself , what was this other object that had been released from his right hand cause the whole time the phoenix was on the left one hmmmm.....begins to grin as projectile after projectile fired from this ship is pulled invariably into its own suction and thus the circle continues...

Apparently the enemy foolishly thought that the projectiles fired from the ship would be sucked into its main cannon. It was another one of the many foolish actions thoughts and ideas, why was this? The cannons were firing up at an angle, they were firing over the vortex. That and they had a high enough velocity to escape the pull of it, so this meant that the elven forces were still being decimated by cannon fire, and soon very soon the man with his stupid little bird that was eaten, would be destroyed too. ((Note that arrows are being fired up and at an angle and not in the direction of the cannon same for the ballista, a little common sense goes a long way.))

Ryu could only frown, this war was not holding his interest.

\" Let me know, if they find a way to board the ship, or if we decide to go by ground and kill each individual by hand. At this point there is no reason to stand on ready. I suggest that those of us not interested in watch go and rest. That way we\'ll be in physical pick for the actual ground invasion.\"

A nod was given and Ryu had made up his mind. He would return to his cabin and nothing nor anyone would stop him. So he\'d leave, exiting to leave Henjou and the Captain along with the young samurai to view the carnage at hand.

Once more the enemy was being foolish. As previously stated everything that was being absorbed was being converted into energy. And as explained when all the in formation about the ship was posted, all of this energy was being used to power the main cannon. That\'s right it was a cycle, a circle that kept going around and around. The main cannon kept absorbing, and it was able to keep absorbing due to the energy it used from absorbing. It was self sufficient and the act of siphoning matter and energy was what powered it. There was no exhaust, and once the main cannon was full, as previously explained, it would fire. How stupid did any given individual have to be?

Saikon could only nod in agreement with Ryu. In fact it was totally pointless for them to all be up here ready for battle. The boat continued forward, the Elve\'s dragons died, their cannons slowly decimated, and every moment they came closer and closer to the docks.

\" Once we hit the docks, make sure to take out the shipyard, best just to run aground like Henjou said.\"

His form idly fading away as he excited to head back to his cabin for a nap....\"Oh and try to keep it down, I\'m a bit tired... it takes a lot of energy to be a hyperactive child.\"

A Horn blows behind the beach a trumpet it would seem of loud chanting that rose higher then the explosions, the skies would soon light up as if the heavens were opening up before there eyes you could hear the soft melody being played a harp being played in perfect harmony as the song fills the air as a glow of light would shine through the skies brightly but harmlessly yet it was soothing as well.

((Look Russel part of being a good leader is knowing how to act Tactically. I'm doing this not because I want to help you, but because you're about to kill the RP. Now right now your NPC force and Strider are being hammered by a superior ship. The ship is limited to the sea, you know that the enemy force plans on invading you, so what do you do? You retreat back away from the water and to another part of Tallendon. That way the enemies are forced to get off of the boat which protects them and advance onto dry land to continue the invasion. This takes away their strongest offense and defense. If you just send everyone straight to the dock, then the ship can keep on doing what it is doing. There is nothing wrong with a tactical retreat when it is used to gain the advantage.))

The ship grew closer and as it did, an alarm would sound only briefly from the depths of the boat. The fan blades would stop spinning and the siphoning of energy would end. The main cannon was ready.... the question being which style of shot would be used first? The answer? The wide spray. And so the Captain positioned his hand over a rune, several lights appearing on the glass screen before him. The magical sights of the ship lining up the oncoming beam of death with each individual that was at the shore line... and then it fired.

Beams of pure white no wider then a few inches and roughly a couple thick shot out from the front of the ship... and not in a single uniform direction. Rather they traveled in tangents moving to hit everything before it. Everything which was living, every elf and dragon, and stupid bird which was before them. Beams made of mana, light, plasma, sound, psionic, kinetic, and every other physical and metaphysical energy, these were beams of Quinta Essentia, and they came out in hundreds of thousands of blasts that at a rate of twenty every half a second.

The bombardment would be fatal, it would destroy both dock and shore line, and magical and corporeal defenses would become useless against. It would use pure power and strength as well as quantity mixed with quality to simply over power and destroy everything in their paths. It would be slaughter and genocide, and the very mountain which the Elven king stood upon risked being blown to pieces.

He looked at Strider as he was making his attacks '' Get out of here Strider fall back too the main city let them come too us! The dock is no more! Retreat! ‘He shouted through the explosions as loud as he can. Luckily the troops remaining at the docks herd his call and then again at an awe of his appearance but reacted upon the call of retreat they lost half there lives already just trying too defend the docks as they are scattered about they ran about 5000 yards in a couple of hours approaching the first main city there strong hold the towers lined up with archers as they poised ready to strike when they come upon. Cirdan planted both the flags down upon the mountain side, a grin spread across his face as he ran back too the palace he chanted something in elfish tongue under his breath as streams of power seems too come upon him his body glowing in a burst of light as it shinned brightly behind them in hopes too blind there opponents in hopes they won’t detect where they are heading towards then remembering the bombs he placed upon the beaches a smile widen across his face almost forgetting them. He stopped midway when everyone rushed away from the docks and back into the cities fortress about 100 feet away from the beach

Durring the battle which was taking place the skyship fleet of Tai'mira began to move within stand-off range of the invading forces. While the invading forces would have no idea that the Tai'miran fleet was even within range to fire, Locke knew that this would catch the invaders off guard. "Commander signal the fleet to aim their guns towards these coordinates." said Locke pointing towards a spot on the three dimentional map which was the Kokuhyou's current location.

Locke Desmoste, High Lord of Tai'mira and the Supreme Commander of the Tai'miran forces was joining this battle onboard the skyship Hyperion flagship of the Tai'miran fleet. "Grand Admiral the fleet's guns are ready to fire." said the commander which Locke had spoken to previously. "Sound the alarm." said Locke picking up a microphone which was connected to his flagship's comm system. "All personel to battlestations, this is not a drill." he said putting down the microphone.

"Commander inform the gunners to fire at will and bring our defense barriers up. Its time to repay our friends in Tallendon." said Locke just before the fleet's guns began to fire.

(( Tai'miran Skyship Fleet: Pride of Tai'mira and the most powerfully armed warships Tai'mira has. Each of these warships have a series of three main guass cannons which fire phased rounds on the top deck and three more on the underside of the ship to deal with enemies below. The smaller ships within the fleet range 150ft long, 30ft wide and 25ft tall. The mid range ships within the fleet range 200ft long 50ft wide and 35ft tall. Finally the high end ships range 350ft long 100ft wide and 50ft tall armed with the largest cannons within the fleet.

Every ship is equipped with a turret fitted to launch rocket strikes against enemy ships within visual range. The ships are also equipped with a device capiable of directing a Electomagnetic Pulse towards a enemy target. On a defensive note every ship within the fleet are equipped with multi-directional defensive barrier shielding, four point defense guass cannons on both the topside and bottom to stop incoming fire or to take down enemy aircraft. Also the hull coloring of the Tai'miran fleet shifts from a sky blue to a soft gray making them appear as moving clouds on the horizon. The hull plating of the ships is made from a special formulation of Arcanirnite which is highly resistant to damage and will deflect any magical attack away from it.

The Tai'miran fleet also carry variable yeild Zero-Point Energy Detionation Projectilles which can be fired from the main cannons.

Flagship of the Tai'miran Fleet: Skyship Hyperion. Dimensions: 400ft long, 250ft wide, 50ft tall. All other specs are the same as the rest of the Tai'miran fleet. ))
